Futuro House

2013 (on-going)

In 2013 I saved a dilapidated 1960s built fibreglass Futuro House from ruin, and managed the deconstruction and transportation of it from South

Africa to the UK. I spent a year researching, planning and executing its restoration. I have delivered two installs of the project to date, both on central London rooftops involving road closures and crane lifts. Initially shown at Matt’s Gallery, then subsequently at Central Saint Martins’s, it is now on display

in Le Havre, France, until September 24 2018.

I am presently planning future landings for the Futuro House, activity within it and ongoing restoration.

2015 - ongoing

Visiting Lecturer / guest speaker

As part of my ongoing research around utopian and counter culture movements, modular architecture, and innovation in materials, I have extensive public speaking experience, focusing on on the history of prefabricated utopian architecture, the Futuro House, its successes and failures, and the relevance today of these ideals. Recent lectures, symposiums and corporate talks have included Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institution, London Architecture Festival, Vision London, WGSN, Central Saint Martins BA architecture, Hereford College of Arts, Brighton University, as well as hosting sold-out public tours of the Futuro House whilst it was at Central Saint Martins. I am presently writing and compiling a publication around these areas of research for publication in 2020.

2016 – 2018

Creative Producer, Central Saint Martins

Initially managing the programming, execution and public experience for five different gallery spaces within the college, the role broadened to include numerous other public facing events. Working with academics, students, administration as well as external individuals, companies and sponsors I pull together the public offering for the college. Recent projects include Creative Unions, Altered Realities, and the LMVH partnership launch. I left this post in 2018 to focus on personal projects, but continue to work in this role in a freelance capacity.
